  • Internet diagnosis (in lieu of actually measuring) gives me the hives, but "yes": no-one else is chipping-in so wha'cha gonna do?

    Free returns?

As ever I'm "standing on the shoulders of giants", but to précis Tstr: anything less than 40 is shit, anything more than 40 is just bling. 110 won't be worse, but whether it's worth the extra coin I honestly couldn't say.

You could poke the beast, but bearing [lol] in mind His disdain for our struggle in the BB thread, I suspect He enjoys seeing the little people struggle for the light. [Which TBF is quite fair: better a lesson learned, than a lesson told. Just sucks for you that I'm the master and you're the guinea-pupil...]

    Your choice.

    Ditto accepting my advice.

  • Are you drunk? :)

    I think @mdcc_tester hasn't answered because he doesn't know either. :)

  • Anyone swapped forks on a 4S Disc or have any idea which aftermarket forks would work?

    http://www.kinesisbikes.co.uk/Catalogue/Models/Racelight/4S-DISC

I'm just think of fitting something stiffer, maybe thru-axle, maybe with some kind of internal cable routing for dyno.

  • Just doing some random searching...

Dropout reinforcing plates? I'm pretty sure these were not in the box with my frame

    https://zerosandones.co.uk/kinesis-4s-disc-build-lessons/

    Anyone else have these?

  • Oh wait, is this guy running a 130mm hub whereas mine is 135 and so doesn't need them anyway? I forgot this frame could support both sizes, I just didn't know how it did it. I'd assumed it should have a second hanger (which I also didn't get, now obviously).

  • Those 'reinforcing plates' are noted on the Kinesis site and are for running 130mm rear wheel. Basically a 2.5mm spacer that bolts onto the inside of each dropout. Fuck knows what he's doing with one of them on the outside.

  • Yeah, I worked out what they were as soon as I posted the pics. His post says something about them not fitting the way they're supposed to. I don't care, I'm running 135mm. I was just worried I'd left out some important structural part as he was referring to them as "reinforcing plates" whereas they're just spacers.

  • Anyone gone for anything bigger than 28s in a 4S Disc? 30C, 32C, 35C?

  • 28s GP4Seasons on mine but it would easily take larger without guards - I reckon you could go to 32c with ease.

  • I'm after a racelight v2 or v3, size 56 or the equivalent. If anyone has one or spots any decent offers, please shout.

    Cheers.

  • I'm selling a 54cm brand new GF Ti v3 frameset: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/302259

  • Hi Oxygendebt.......
Replied to your frame sale on your ad.........

    Cheers.
    Dave.

  • Yeah, I've run 28 Duranos so I figured bigger will work. Just waiting for a dry day so I can clean the bike and try out the 32 and 25 Hypers I bought. If the 35s don't fit I'll sell them on.

  • If it was a 57...

  • I have sold the 54 GF Ti but there are a few bits from the build available here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/302427/

  • Anyone gone for anything bigger than 28s in a 4S Disc? 30C, 32C, 35C?

Well, yes hippy, you fucking god of a man, I can answer that for you now...

Vittoria Hyper 700x35 do fit front and back on the Kinesis 4SD with a bit of clearance but, if I'm honest, I'd be more comfortable with a 32 on the front, in case it scoops up a pile of mud and grinds the fork crown to paste.

  • Just posted this picture in the build thread for my brother's bike, but thought I might as well stick it in here too.

  • Damn, I want a read one.

  • A brewery you say...

  • Really enjoying the CX Race in 'look at me' blue. I've been running it Canti since Aug but I'm going to convert to disc soon. If anyone wants the fork or a pair of Avid Shorty ultimares I'll be selling them on here for cheaps to fund new bitz.

  • Not been out on it as much as would like, but I'm loving it....

  • Looking good @belugabob (saw the pics in your build thread, why not here too?)!

Here's a pic of mine from a ride a couple of weeks ago. Since reverted to a Romin saddle, for now.

  • Holy mudflaps, Batman!

@TurtleRecall - are those standard on those (PDW?) guards?
