I agree! North London Thundercats, 5th Floor and Sunday Eschappee are just three groups who are (to differing extents) showing how different kinds of club organisations can improve upon some of the traditional club structures.
But my time with VCL and experience so far with Brixton CC make these collectives painfully self-absorbed. They seem to think collaborating with a brand is some kind of mountain top of #engagement
How are FTR any different to 5th Floor? 5th Floor are just a more established version of the same "we are serious dudes". They have just done some real racing, scrapped about a bit and gotten Adidas instead of Milltag.
