Ratchet straps - are the cheap ones ok or is it better to get a "brand"?
I'm contemplating attaching a set of car wheels to a roof rack.

Never had a problem with my cheap 1" straps. The larger branded ones are nicer to use, and release more easily when you want to undo them, but they all work.

What can I put on a new frame (ti) to make mud/road shit less likely to stick to it or more easily cleaned off?
I've heard various - wax, lemon pledge, hydrophobic paint... any recommendations?
@hoops maybe you might be the guy to ask?

Okay that's probably is the best option!
Plus painted titanium are a rare breed, and would look awesome painted like stainless steel (like certain part exposed).
Speaking of paint, surely clearcoat is a good idea?

@hoops - a specific kind? I have other painted bikes and dirt sticks to them quite persistently. I guess I don't really want something permanent or that will change the appearance of the frame.
@freezing77 this looks good - will check it out.

Cleaning titanium frames is so easy you don't need to worry. @big_daddy_wayne used baby oil on his, but I have never bothered.

I found Prague the worst place for stag/hen.
Stag-do last year turned violent (...) Englishmen (...) Northern Ireland football top with Healy on the back (...) they followed and simply wanted to fight
..clearly Prague's fault then!

I want to drill a 20mm hole in some thinnish ply (12 or 18mm from memory).
What would be the best type of hole saw?
I also think I might want to drill a similar hole in some metal later, so was considering this bi-metal hole saw
I have a normal decent hand drill.
Cheers.

A hole saw should be fine. It'll help if you can rest the ply against a sacrificial bit of wood/MDF/whatever to support it while you drill the hole.

I need to make a payment of 18,000 Icelandic Krona to someone in Iceland, and my bank, the Cooperative Bank, being a useless bunch of tossers, don't do payments in Icelandic Krona. Something they forgot to mention yesterday when I rang them to organise the payment. Any suggestions (and Paypal is not an option) as to how I can make the payment?

Car wax, if you can be bothered. Pledge works for giving it a bit of a shine, prevents fingerprints etc, but I don't think it stops crap sticking to it. Like @dancing james says, cleaning it is easy. Surely one advantage of Ti is not having to worry about looking after it. Until it's looking a bit patchy after a few years, then you go over it with a pan scourer.

Similar, although I wouldn't give my money to anybody who doesn't know the difference between nitride and nitrite :)

Why not just contact the person you are sending the cash to, explain the problem and send a Euro equivalent? I don't think there should be any conversion costs at either end for a bank transfer.

I used Azimo - https://azimo.com - last year to send some Zloty. Was very good, and gave me updates along the way.

May have to. Azimo and Moneycorp don't do Icelandic Krona either, and they're on the other side of Iceland from Reykjavik.
Everywhere. If you can't be bothered to go outside, search online for 8.8, 10.9 or 12.9. My favourite shop has 12.9 (the strongest grade) for 6-18p each depending on length with a MOQ of 10
