your battery is dead, it should be around 7,4V. Send it back to where you bought it and Shimano will provide a new one. Happened to me once..
That is what I thought. I can't imagine the volage would be that low a depleted battery.
Does anyone know if shimano's two year warranty applied to parts sold as part of a full bike?
Take it back to the shop, this isn't your problem.
Assuming you're in the EU, goods have to work for a reasonable amount of time, where reasonable depends on the product.
