There's rust in my drivers side front wing, said wing is now in the bin with a new one fitted.
This means that the front of the car needs a respray, likely to be bumper/headlight surrounds/wings/bonnet.
I'm debating doing the whole car but apparently a load of the trim that you'd need is unavailable these days. Anyone know how people restoring classic cars get round this?

Good to know you're local.
I've only used Bromley once; to service my last car (220d) and they were okay i guess - nothing special.
Bought this one from Worcester as it was the best barely used with the spec i wanted, nationally. Got a while until the first service comes around for me.

Which car? If it's the vovlo I'd imagine swedish scrap yards could be good? Do you know about bildelsbasen.se? PM if you want any more local knowledge!

Things you can no longer buy for the Volvo 850:
- Tailgate seal
- Rear door seals
- Chip stickers on rear arches
- Black triangles on rear doors
- Rear roof seal
- Rubbing sticker on the front wings
- Tailgate window lower trim
If that lot can be purchased in Sweden still that would be very useful knowledge to have.

Are they just general 850 bits or 850R specific?

In return can you please source me a cargo net for my w214 wagon?
This, but without the $250 shipping... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MERCEDES-BENZ-W124-S124-T-WAGON-CARGO-TRUNK-LINER-DOUBLE-ROLLER-BLIND-ANIMAL-NET-/322453400252?hash=item4b13b86abc:g:4IIAAOSwNSxVG0bk

How much is it worth to you?

Sadly the parts I need are not listed, I'll keep an eye on this anyway - thanks.

'Guess it was a bit greasy, cold tyres.

That car is actually Nick Mason (of Pink Floyd)'s car. Think he was driving it too which is surprising as he's fairly experienced.

They are far too quick for goodwood - hence demo laps. There's fuck all runoff anywhere.

Yes. Can't see those coming back in a hurry. :o$

I'd be interested to see who / how it gets repaired and whether it goes back to McLaren for such a service or some other specialist
-
• #33318
I imagine it would be back to McLaren - didn't they have to do a huge reconstruction job on Rowan Atkinsons F1 a few years back?
-
• #33319
Yeah he ploughed it into another car on the motorway didn't he?
-
• #33320
He spannered it twice apparently, costing just under 1 million quid to repair in the rear ender
The car then spent more than a year in the hands of McLaren's expert technicians in Woking, Surrey.

The horror.

It will likely either go to McLaren or to Lanzante to have the work done.

def McLaren. it's probably the most iconic (non-long tail) f1 ever!

Bought by Rowan Atkinson, driven by Mr Bean?
