  • Does anyone know of a disc wheel valve adaptor shallower than the Zipp/Silca press-on like this?:

I've just got a disc wheel with a very small hole and even this one is a bit too big, which means I'm losing a lot of air every time I try to take it off. I'm worried I might snap the valve core once I've actually stuck the tyre on.

    Any other options?

DremelĀ® time! You can cut pretty big chunks out of most discs (not stuff like Lighweight which have pre-tensioned skins) without weakening them enough to worry about.

  • Sounds like quite a drastic option. And would involve me having to buy a Dremel.

What am I missing here? Google Image Search brings up dozens of pictures of unadulterated Ambrosio disc wheels, including one in this thread where the valve looks even longer than mine (Vittoria Rally, 36mm valve).

How did they pump theirs up?
