Stoke on Trent to Congleton (station to station) was a surprisingly nice route, the driving rain throughout made for a good kit test. I chose to skip waterproof trousers but for longer day in that would use them for sure.
Hadn't given much thought to train times for home, had missed one by a couple of mins so found the Congleton chippy, although wished I'd gone to the pub as chips in the unlit station shelter was bleak, again a good kit test for spare layers (ashmei merino, omm rotor smock, montane prism gloves) to keep the cold out until next train.
Chippy shuts relatively early (8.30pm) on Saturdays so is not likely to figure in my EfM plan unless I'm making very good progress. Future trip to check out the Kidsgrove fast food situation needed.
