Srsly can't work out the second-hand markers?

I really love the overall look of that Smiths but I really wish it was available with normal numbering too.
I don't want to wear a watch with a pointless motorbike speedo printed on the dial!
That would be such a beauty with normal numbering

It's supposed to look like an old Smiths Chronometric speedometer: http://vintagebritishcables.com/images/RC115.jpg

It's meant to be a homage to a Black Shadow motorcycle speedo. Makes a change from submariner homages but I'm not convinced for the price.
-
• #21736
it looks like it could be advertised in the back of a classic lorries magazine

Have we discussed this yet?

No idea what it is. URL worryingly has SL 1200 in text? Like it sum homage to Technics?
-
• #21739
I think it's a TUE28.
-
• #21740
If it were a Tutima we might be onto something...
Alas I fear it is more tech gumpf.

• #21741
The extra 0 on the end of the numbers too difficult for you?

Turing Bombs all-round.
-
• #21743
Interesting actually.
-
• #21744
To me it just looks crap. Like those clocks made out of an old record.
-
• #21745
I'm not saying I like it, I'm just saying everyone's going a bit over the top at the fact they've added a 0 after the regular watch numbers
-
• #21746
I'd go for school home economics scales...

Does this make more sense?

Questions for the horological hive mind.
- Italian / Spanish watch places on ebay - any concerns or caveats?
- Unsigned papers for watches? Big deal? Yes/no?

I like dials to be functional and I dislike watches being tributes to things that aren't watches.
Having extra numbers and a dial made to look like a piece of old motorbike ticks that box.
Porsche or Ferrari watch anybody? I thought not.

Take it to the extreme and you'd have this on your wrist.
Being a wrong hander I hadn't really considered crowns and cycling as an issue.
I do have this though that also solves the problem.
