nope. on my second attempt I came down with the flu day after knocking 12 minutes off my half pb (1:38) then I subsequently ran a further 2 halfs (1:45, 1:43) over next 6 weeks and then 2 fulls (3:58, 4:19) in space of 2 weeks before I ended up with such a bad chest infection I had to stop running for months then.
nothing to do with hansons plan as after the flu I basically wasn't well enough to follow it anymore and was running no more than a couple times a week. my fitness was just enough that it let me carry on without training. pure idiocy on my part but nowt to do with the plan.
until that point I was well on track for a sub 3:30 full so the plan was working just as well. I wasn't feeling overtrained and the 1:38 half wasn't even a flat out effort. I could have kicked on the last 3 miles but held back.
Genuinely not trolling here @HatBeard but didn't hansons work for you the first time you followed it and then result in injury/chronic sickness/fatigue in 2 subsequent attempts resulting in not making the start line?
