I just bought a Mamiya 645 of a friend. I will get it later this month. It doesn't have a built in light meter so I will need to sort out something.
What do you guys advice? Which light meter should I get? Is an app sufficient? Cheers -

Could you guys consider moving your which-Leica-should-I-get discussion over to What camera do I buy? / general gear talk ?

Good call.

Shoot negative film and use the sunny 16 rule, it doesn't take long to get your eye in. Basically exposure for the shadows and the film does the rest. Light meter app or available light app for more challenging conditions.

Large format camera - 5x4" format. Anyone got experience? How do people develop this film? B+W in developing trays I guess? What about C41?

Well, I am now the owner of this. I have no idea how it works but it sure looks fun.
Slightly scared about developing large format film and also considering a 120 back for it.

There's a pretty neat series running on BBC4 at the moment. It's historical, but pretty impressive just how fantastic some of the photography was, early on.

This is by Julia Margaret Cameron. She was kinda like a 19th Century Nan Goldin :-)

Curved film plane!
Need to look more into this double pinhole thing... -

No need to enlarge with 5x4
Yea, like no need to go faster than 30 mph with a Porsche I guess?
I'm aware of the money, effort and commitment it takes to make proper prints - especially large ones - but c'mon, why bother shooting 4x5 if in the end all you do is make contact prints / get low-res scans..
@mi7rennie ..you might check out foto impex berlin again for LF film / paper etc.

The double pinhole just allows the choice of where the horizon is placed on the image. I'll get it at the end of the month so will update with pictures then.
