Is it different to the E3 Tail Light 2 (http://www.supernova-lights.com/en/supernova-e3-tail-light-2)?

I use that light with the rubber seatpost mount between the stays. I've not seen it mounted on a stay but there's no reason not to so long as it doesn't foul with your saddle bag.
