Yeah that was mostly a joke! (Although it didn't start out that expensive, the price only went insane after the review and it's scarcity).

In Birmingham tomorrow. Will have a look in bullring at the selection and see if anything catches my eye. Not that I know what I'm looking for if anyone had a recommendation. Liking single malts at the moment

Amazon actually delivered on the £45 Royal Brackla 21. Ordered at the beginning of December, arrived two months later.

I've got this with a bottle of Laphroiag and Knob Creek at the moment - 2 month expected delivery. What's the idea behind it?

I'm not sure, but I wonder if they oversell by a slight percentage (assuming cancellations, returns, etc) before indicating that it's out of stock? I've had the 1-2 month estimate on some other stuff and the order has been fulfilled within a week. Other times it's taken a month. They've never cancelled an order either, which I assumed would be the outcome with ^^.

I was drinking that with coke last night. It was putawayable but I think my tastebuds have moved away from b&c these days.

That ain't bourbon, cowboy! It doesn't taste great but it's something different that'll get you drunk and I think £21 is a fair price. I have it over lots of ice.
R&C is the official drink of Saskatchewan, Canada btw.

Seeming as I ordered bulliet rye at such a good price I have ordered some hibiki to make up for it. Hopefully I enjoy it. Sounds like it is up my street from what I have read.

Got this from the GF, am going to drink a couple very soon, so I can figure out which one tickles my Ickles, as there's the possibility I'll be in Japan in the new year and I can bring back a couple of big people bottles.
Probably will be the Coffey grain whiskey and two others as I tried it in black rock and liked it immensely..
Got something similar from my better half over Christmas and have ended up buying a bottle of Nikka from the Barrel off the back of it. Amazing drink.
@killerstraight Seconded on Bullring (Selfridges ?) and the Whisky Shop in the Great Western Arcade being expensive. Better off buying the usual suspects from supermarkets, and anything more exotic from the internets

Had a look on Amazon to see if Bulleit Rye was still on offer. It wasn't, so clicked on a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 instead.

Amazon currently running a 'spend £50 & save £10' deal that seems to include most of their Prime available whisky (and beer, wine, and other spirits). Checkout code = SAVETENBWS
Pretty amazing as they already have some great prices on whisky.

Anyone tried Mackmyra? Intrigued by the different barrels they use for finishing, but not sure if they'll taste interesting or horribly sweet and gross.
-
• #2473
Mackmyra Brukswhisky is quite good value for money imo
-
• #2474
Sweet, thanks for that.

correct. I was in Birmingham for the weekend so thought i would have a look. Good choice of stuff but all over priced. Managed to get the Hibiki for £24 less. Have yet to taste it but might tonight.
Had a look in my local shop which has been selling whiskey (whisky) and other since 1929 again good selection and the gentlemen inside was very knowledgeable and helpful but I saw things online cheaper.
do you mean this one?

Definitely can't afford that, no matter how good it tastes..
