Suggestion this was done to Doull's shoe by Kittel's disc.

Not this again. It's like the "omg he has a motor because his wheel is spinning but he's not pedaling" syndrome.

Not saying I agree. Knowing how sprinters are reluctant to brake in the finale, seems unlikely Kittel's disc would be hot.

Plenty of scope to hurt yourself on a chainring/sprockets/spokes etc etc.
