Spend the money you saved on the frame on a Silca
Rear triangle frame pumps don't count

The BIASED media are circulating FAKE NEWS about rear triangle pump pegs. My original comment related to an image of a cycle messenger with a frame on his back with no pump pegs. This has since been taken OUT OF CONTEXT to relate to another frame. Please help me make LFGSS GREAT AGAIN and reject the biased metropolitan elite and their dishonest media tactics. DISGRACEFUL!

well, yeah.
Ive always wondered, does it effect stiffness and all that jazz?

no

FWIW I don't understand why S+S is a thing when there are readily available carrying cases for normal bikes.
Please educate me.

It's mostly because of American airline companies being weird with sports equipment, and if you can fit the bike in a normal sized bag that will go in the hold then it counts as normal luggage.

makes it slightly easier .. roll the 26" x2 6"x 10" (or 12") case/bag to station, take train to work in peak hour, roll the bag to work, take the tube after work to Heathrow in peak(ish) hour .. plus airlines wont charge ever and you can pack all your stuff in it like a normal bag. Have you taken internal flights in India? S&S costs £500 max and pays for itself in couple of trips IMO. If I had to lug a full bike I wouldn't have for me 2 out of 3 trips this year.
Makes sense, no? Unless you are anti-cycling.
To put the whole project in perspective, I will struggle to cross the £1600 mark on the whole build. The reason I have kept it relatively cheap is because the whole idea started as an ultra cheap bike to leave back home in India so I dont have to carry anything which escalated to a 'travel bike'. Still a very MVP.

I got a flight to basel in June for this year. Flights cost £50 return.
Bikes cost £80 (£40 each way) on top of that...
If you're going to the alps/mountains regularly it makes sense.

I generally factor in the stress/time as money as well .. esp while travelling

Interesting points. I guess in certain use cases it makes sense.

I have a full sized bike case as well (Evoc something) I bought it used and had to carry it empty when the seller dropped it at the train station which involved taking train with no lifts or escalators (because fuck you people who need those) and then a bus 2 min journey home .. its mahosive and still a pain carrying empty.

Have you considered a Brompton? Short wheelbase, no disc brakes, frame pump.
