  • I've cut up and old A4 plastic binder. If you mount it on the inside of the mudguard, it bends a little which makes it a bt stiffer - but it can still bend out of the way of twigs etc..

  • I got my second hand alpha Q forks for under a hundred and they're the nest ones you can get for cx

  • WoW all the LuFGuSS SS17 trends! Looks ace. Cheers for the advice.

  • Yeah, in a fucking ass ugly franken form. Compare that to @spotter or your Genesis and avert your eyes.

  • It's finished!

  • Sptrs is pretty, mine is boring, yours is rad.

  • I have a 10spd Shimano Zee shifter sat in the shed doing absolutely nothing, nor will it be. Yours if it's what yer after. Let me know via pm.

  • Saddle position looks a little odd.

Also front mudguard is all but ineffective.

  • Would suggest frames too long, saddle right forward and very short stem. May as well take that front guard off.

  • meanin you wan sell 2 mez? ;)
genuinely interested if you still got em

  • yeah, would go with an even shorter (MTB) stem and push the seat back

  • Anyone ridden a Ritchey Ascent Break-away yet? How's the bb coupling holding up during offroading?
Thinking of building one to take on my business trips. Seems like a nice do-it-all bike.

  • Meaning that they are cheap enough to get hold of I saw a few other pairs go for much the same price.

  • Just noticed the Bridgestone and Orrell posted here. It was tough having to let one go, they are both bikes I know I'd miss, and both very hard to come by again. The Orrell, with the short top tube and generous tyre clearance, is very unique for a late 1970s bike. The Bridgestone is a joy, and opens up infinite build options, which is a lot of fun to think of.

Anyway, Orrell is now gone. I miss it already. In the end it was the more rational outcome because my other bike can do all that the Orrell could (albeit with a lot less charm). I miss it already.

  • How's the bb coupling holding up during offroading?

It has lasted this long, I can't see any reason why it wouldn't continued to do so in the near future.

  • @Chak my goodness! I saw you near old street ages ago on this, and spent a long long time searching google for yak, y.a.k etc and found nothing, convinced myself i had read it wrong and no such brand existed. have you got any more pics? such a cool bike!

  • Ohh that's sweet. Columbus make a carbon fork with mounts or is it modded?

  • Any ideas what that rack is?

  • What the fork is that fork? That bike is pretty much all i want and dream and plan about right now.

  • looks like a columbus futura disc fork with added rack mounts. Not sure how wise it is, I assume a Spork fork would be safer

  • please get rid of that storage "bottle". the rest is just perfect, nice!
