Single sided shimano touring spd are great, not an issue to get clipped in at all (also, learn to track stand a little?)
M520 I've found ok, definitely not as secure as time atac but cheap and cleats last a long time. With atac I feel 100% secure if brakeless, with shimano about 80%. I've also popped out of the m520 when sprinting and pulling up.
