Ah, I see. Well, maybe they've severed ties with DT and want to clear old stock?
If I didn't have so many Powertaps already I'd probably grab another :)

Well, I bit the bullet and plumped for an S type from Power2Max. I selected the Paypal option in the end, just need to get things moving.
Received an instant email expecting it to be an invoice ready for payment but no it was just a confirmation of order and they may well take 2 days to sort it out 0_o
German efficiency ?
Just wanna know my numbers bro!

Powermeters are overrated, just use Strava...

It'll be worth the wait.

Google isn't giving me an answer. Can you turn off Auto-Zero on a Garmin 520?
-
• #8157
Don't think so. There was an option to turn of Auto-Zero on the 800, but Garmin removed it as part of one of it's 'updates', for your comfort, convenience and increased device-using pleasure. Fairly sure it's never made a come-back.

Indeed, my 800 is running the old firmware but it won't live forever, looking at alternatives. :/
-
• #8159
Well, it's not available as a feature on the current firmware on an 810, 1000 or 500. However, I'm not sure that it's actually necessary once you've turned off auto zero. My understanding is that the 'turn off auto zero' function is the head unit telling the power meter not to bother with any more auto zeroing, and having been told that, the power meter stops doing it (if you can switch it off - on some like a P2M you can't). I think that once you've turned it off with a suitable head unit (like a Joule or Joule GPS for a Powertap) you can then use any headunit and the auto-zero function on the power meter will remain off. Could be wrong though, so feel free to ignore.

It was an option on Fenix 3... until Garmin removed it.

Great, so as long as the 800 is functioning enough to tell the PM to stop after every battery swap (assume the PT doesn't have a memory), then all good.
-
• #8162
That's my understanding, yes.

Yup, checked on my 520 (with Powertap P1)

If anyone is buying from P2Max over the next 4-6 weeks and not taking advantage of the Praxis Works rings @ €99 deal, please shout. I'm after a set of 50/34's.
Thanks.

Anyone using the 4iiii PM?
The praxis offer is quite nice - you get a chainset plus PM for £400. I could sell my existing praxis chainset for £100 which makes a power meter for £300 quite appealing.

Is it actually available anywhere? Just did some googling as I am considering a PM and cost is a factor, but doesn't appear to be for sale anywhere I could find (I didn't look hard, mind).
There are a wealth of responses above from people saying don't bother with single sided, mind

Is it overkill buying a new powermeter just because the one you currently have is a bit noisy and needs to be stripped and cleaned?
Answer below:
- Yes
- Yes, but do it anyway

I;ve just changed from praxis to rotor no Q. Praxis were dead.
Rotor no Q seem just as good. -
• #8169
How did they compare price wise?
-
• #8170
Dunno.
I did just look up what they cost and a big ring is 75 and little 35. So not cheap.I think my praxis did around 15k miles, so not bad. This winter seems to have killed every bike component though.

• #8171
Same as praxis.

Sounds completely reasonable to me.
When are you buying? -
• #8173
I'm half serious. I have some spare S-Works cranks that I was thinking of P2Ming.
Would need them to go Compact for the ultra bike.
Rotor vs. S-Works though? Is there any point?
-
• #8174
S-works look nicer I think
-
• #8175
S-Works might have a lower Q factor but don't quote me
GS in 24h is £300 direct. It's legit and a few people I know have recieved them.
