  • To be fair, quite a few news outlets guessed that's what he meant, but everyone decided to pile in on the 'fake trumpery' because it's cathartic.

    I don't know how wise it is, though. It's just emphasizing the polarisation.

  • Emphasize away I say. Why would one not want to be antipolar to Trump et al? See the time article @dancing james posted earlier, the guy puts it well comparing the stuff happening now (adjusting to the new administration) to the beginning of historical dictatorships.

  • Because there's no chance of decoupling a nascent dictator (if that is what he his) from his power base if through polarisation you drive them further into his arms.

    Every civil war and dictatorship I've ever read about starts with this extreme polarisation. I don't want to play a part in amplifying it, I want to find out how to derail it.
