My limited experience of using the bike as a dandy horse in the flat (no cranks) probably doesn't qualify me to answer, but I shall report back once ridden in anger.

  • superstar has started doing them too

Thanks again for the tip off, arrived on my desk and quality seems really good, especially considering the price.

  • Sorry, fixeh bicycle

  • Liking this build and love the mudguard solution.

I built up a cdf last year with 650b. One problem I've encountered is handlebar vibration/wheel shimmy. Mines built with a 58cm frame and carbon fork. Any ideas how to rectify this. I can stop it once it starts by leaning a leg on the cross tube but it would be good to stop it happening in the first place.

  • Brief blast this afternoon through the cobbled streets of Wapping, initial impressions of 650b (x 42c) are super comfy and when giving it a squirt don't feel sluggish either. Most probably was running too high a pressure but certainly felt I was floating over the bumps more than ever before. I was worried the gearing would be too high and wouldn't have the range I was after from the medium-reach rear mech, but was a lot better than I expected. Really I need to take this on a hilly ride but first impressions are encouraging. Looking forward to many adventures to come.

  • Dreamy

  • Fucking ace

  • @spotter thanks for getting yours so I knew I needed this in my life. If you do come across Shimano asymmetric narrow-wide silver chainrings do holla. Reckon silver would look 👌

@amey surprised you like this with discs. Seriously though thanks for all the help - bars feel luuurvely.

  • Ooof, that'll do! Very, very nice.

  • so good.

  • Absolutely perfect. We'll done mate!

  • @Jaap @Dantheman @Tijs @gillies @Hulsroy lots of love this evening! Thanks y'all.

  • You do have a knack for putting together a nice bike...Lovely stuff.

  • really nice. also, see link below:

    http://garbaruk.com/chainrings-round/bcd-mount/110-4bolt-shimano-asymmetric.html

might be expensive, but seems to handle the transition from the arms a bit better. might just be my thing with the shimano ufo chainsets and regular rings tho..

edit: and i think the black ring goes well with the build, especially with the rd having a black cage

  • This is even better than I thought it would turn out! The bar tape really sets it off! Well done my dude

  • Yep the bar tape is lovely. Well done!
