  • Look fine, only appear too long because the chainring is small, it will also look too short when you put it on the smallest cog.

    Keep it, you might be able to get a 11-42t cassette on it with that configuration (Sunrace make a 10 speed version).

  • I run one of those. Works great with that derailleur. Some of the jumps in gearing are a bit annoying, but it's understandable and you get used to it.

  • The small jump is actually nearly identical to a 5 speed block, it just got the extra 5 cassette with similar jump to get that range.

    I think the main problem is that we got so used to having such short jump that we spend more time going to the perfect ratio than staying on a ratio and change when necessary.

  • Which derailleur is it? I'm stalled on converting my MTB , has an older SLX 10 speed rear mech, I've got the 11-42 and a Nw chainring, just trying to work out the derailleur I can use that will work without issues (clutch would be nice)

  • I'm running one with an X9 Sram derailleur, also no complains at all
