@TurtleRecall :( bummer i am only aiming for the ride 46 after seeing how many on here have failed attempts in the ballot, not fancing my chances.
On another note.......
We leapfogged through Clarkenwell ( i think) with a Brommie tonight, might be on here, or maybe not :) Blaze lazer green bike blob projector and red arrow LED lights on helmet, around 5.30pm
Fella was caning it past other commuters, odd speed wobble now and then, we watched with interest from works vehicle as he hacked up the road. -

Female work colleague has a place at this. Was super excited for her. She's also doing ride100 as well. Though she doesn't rider to work...
-
• #2782
I got the same. I saw the acceptance email that wasn't then taken back and the wording was different to the one that was rescinded.
-
• #2783
Believe that will be done on a full sized bike..
-
• #2784
I like the idea of small wheels and low standover but will probably rarely fold it. Is the c dale hooligan a better option or do people still rate the Brompton?
-
• #2785
If you need it to fold Brompton, if you don't need it to fold, whatever floats your boat..
-
• #2786
Where are you going to get a Hooligan from? Theres not many about.
Do they have any non-standard parts? I'm guessing yes because its a Canondale.

Seem to have fucked my 2spd shifter/derailleur such that I only have bottom gears. Suggestions?
-
• #2788
Do up or undo the adjuster on the shifter. Failing that, those two Allen keys on the mech thing. I've had mine decide not to move because it's covered in so much grime but I'd be surprised if you've already managed to do that to yours?
-
• #2789
The top gear was a bit noisy so I fiddled with the shifter... but no amount of shifter fiddling has returned full shifting. Will investigate Allen keys

I also find jiggling the various bits around near the mech end helps. Mostly whilst waiting at traffic lights after it's been making an ominous noise.
It's weird, I just can't bring myself to treat it as well as my real bike, it just gets covered in crap and shit and dumped in the boot of an evening.

I lost the ability to shift into the larger sprocket after only a couple of weeks of ownership. Adjusted the cable one notch tighter as recommended on the Brommie site. I also lube the mech thing with WD40 regular, plus also the jockey wheel system, so that the wheels can slide back and forth easily.
I can't believe that you'd need to adjust the mech thing though after such a short time. Instructions to do so are again on the Brommie site.

I can't believe that you'd need to adjust the mech thing though after such a short time.
It is a brand new bike and it can be returned to the shop to get it tweaked for free until the free service in 6 weeks time prior to picking it up.

Don't brand new cable always elongate a little at the beginning, on any bike, and once that's passed you'll be fine?
-
• #2794
Yep it was pretty much this - rear mech bits were a bit shitted up following a spot of gravel bashing earlier this week.

a spot of gravel bashing
So on-trend!

Moved house to within walking distance (10mins) of work so this is really unnecessary now and hasn't moved from the spare room since.
Think it's had about 400km on it.....

My Brompton SL6 Black edition was stolen on Lacy Road in Putney outside Halfords two hours ago! Witnesses, but alas, nobody stopped them. If anybody see's one listed in London in brand new condition, please let me know.
Mud/girt maybe.
