Nice. Still haven't been to Brechfa.

Yeah, there's few who can make nice Alu now (it's all too curvy and shit looking)..
I think Liteville are beautiful (I'm biased, I own a 301).
http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Liteville-301-MK10-Tested.htmlI have a MK11, and I think the MK12 has an integrated dropper post. Liteville (aka Syntace) are all about details.

You doing Braunton 150? Had hoped to but a) Easter - should be family time for me and b) distance training not happened. Also slightly concerned will wipe me out for too long.

Yep, I am. Great training for Highland Trail 550 in May. You'll be fine after a few days. I did it last year, but blew out my knee (old injury) so hoping extra work on strength will pay off this year.
Also, Bikes > Family.

150miles and 6,500m climbing might take me a bit more than a few days but given the event I was training for has just been cancelled it's only family I've got to worry about (other than my legs).

Anyone know the torque specs for M980 XTR crank bolts? Needed to add another spacer, maybe still needs another. Lucky I kept that fucked up BB.

11-13 units of something. Watch out - they're made of cheese, quite shallow and the innermost one is easy to round off at which point you're in a world of hurt. I know I had to drill one out.

I gave it 12.5 Nm. It all went well.
Poor worker and his tools and all that... :P

As a non Stages owner you probably won't be shifing it that often but it's undoing that's the issue!

Do you have good allen keys and clean the bolts out before attempting removal?
I made it in this morning and the cranks stayed on although dropped the chain again so gave the chaintug another turn and same with the QR skewer so it's a bit tighter. Might need to clean up/rough up the track end surfaces to stop it sliding so easily or swap the skewer for something stronger like 'all metal' Shimano.

Yup but i'm probably moving it around twice a week. Used a deore skewer on my Simple - bombproof

deore skewer
I fitted a cheap Shimano one after I killed the previous one crashing my face into Uxbridge Rd. It's not been the best. I'll give it more beans but I don't like doing them stupid tight (kicking them closed) because then I can never get them off when my hands are cold or whatever.

Hi - sorry for the slow reply. Are these for 32 mm stanchions? Do they include the dirt/wiper seals and the foam O-rings underneath? Thanks
-
• #9768
I have no idea what any of that means.
They have Rock Shox 604 408334 000 written on them, if that's any help.

Cycling UK's Rides Of Way report is out if anyone is interested.

Hah that's awesome. Might be a bit long and low for drop bars but it's a great do everything hard tail.

London to Brighton offroad, maybe back again same day. Anyone done it?

Had a great rip around Holmbury and Leith Hill yesterday. Not been out in a while. Surprised how dry the trails are for February. Great fun and got back not caked in mud. Double win.

BHF route isn't all that interesting. A few lumps in the middle but other than that canal paths and old railway tracks. More cross bike suitable.

@7Üp has a route that might not suck
Snow on the ground at Brechfa this morning.
