  • How does one attach mudguards to the rear brake bridge when the threaded hole is vertical rather than horizontal? Do I need to remove the bracket and drill a hole in the mudguard?

Not my bike, but this pic shows the issue - I'm not convinced by their zip tie solution.

  • When my top bracket broke, I used to cross-over two zip ties around the whole guard and bridge (my guards were made of flat alu plate so this didn't crush or bend the guard).

Could just bend the mudguard tab over backwards and run a bolt through that?

  • Drill a hole in the mudguard, push the bolt through a washer then the hole, then thread it into the frame.

  • Can you not run zipties under that bracket, ie. between the silver bracket and the mudguard, on either side of the mount tab?

That would give a more solid mount.

  • Absolutely drill a hole in the fender and then mount it to the frame as designed. Space it properly for aesthetics and long fender life.
