There may be a high and low pressure switch setting, that may be settable, but depends.
I.E. The compressor cuts in on low pressure and cuts out again at high pressure, not capacity.
For example it may come on at 65 psi /4.5 bar and then stop once the pressure reaches a set high pressure maybe 100 psi /7 bar.
This is the usual method of simple control.
May look similar to this.
