  • ...i actually had a lower "bearing preload thingy on top of the top bearing" in the spares box, and this freed enough space to put the tester slamdatslem topcap on without leaving a gap.
    of course, this was not the end of my troubles, because it seems the tester cap has a yet so slightly too small an inner diameter to fit cleanly on the top cup and it rubs.
    get the sanding paper out? fuck me..

    edit: i'll just ride without the top cap for that pro look for now. on a pompino.. hell as said the frame might even turn out to big for me so all these steerer woes will then be gone. hopefully

  • we're talking micrometers here i reckon, hence me thinking of getting the sanding paper out. i measure the same diameter with my analogue caliper between them.
