Equally in the sense that it's "thick - thin -thick -thin -thick - thin - thick".

Also, when looking at the hi-res on flickr I see that the thin ones are solid black, while the thick ones have like a gradient from black to dark grey?

This didn't happen in camera (you didn't 'scan' the whole strip in one piece with your setup, did you) ?
