  • Insulated brevet jacket.

    Yea or nae?

when I hear 'insulated jacket' and cycling I think of my own particular bovril-scented musk that my transfer jacket generates after a couple of rides around town.

The sale hooded rain jacket went back because I still can't get my head around their sizing, it sounds like the brevet jacket is equally confusing and I'll have gone from a standard medium to XL just based on chest size?

  • Definite yay from me.

Been using it from 0-10c and it is rather nice. I probably wouldn't use it above that or if I were going out on a baw-oot chainy or something, but it is definitely a nice piece. Works well in the wet, too.

My only gripe is that it is a little short in front, but I guess it is designed for riding, after all.

    I wear XL and I'm 6ft5 and 92kg.

  • I was thinking it might be appropriate for the damp days up at our northern latitudes without being like the boil in the bag rain jacket.

The sizing just totally throws me now-older rapha stuff was totally fine and comparable to other brands, but for anything other than bibs the newer stuff is bewildering-I'm 5'11 and never been XL in anything but now even a large is tight across the chest but long on the backs or sleeves depending on the garment.
