Haven't tried the specialized option but the regular Ergons have been comfy as hell on my bikes, most with bars at a 45ยบ sweep or so.

Picked this p2c up yesterday, will be getting a low stack headset cover from @mdcc_tester, 165mm cranks and a 1x di2 groupset as soon as I can pick bits up on eBay, then all I have to do is convince my wife that two Tt bikes is the right number!

Aliexpress seatpost, a copy of something else no doubt.
I'm liking it a lot. Handles really nicely, it's as stiff as people say but not uncomfortable (25c tyres on 17 internal rims). It's a lot of fun.

Just tell her you now have a TT bike and a Tri bike, necessary because they are completely different sports with different equipment regulations.

Also you can get Ergons specially for a swept back bar like that. Those you have being the ones for flat or nearly flat bars.
I'm well aware, I just swapped my grips from my flat bars over to try these bars. No point in spending all the money on new egrons just to try some different bars.

Not Specialized. Ergon make some for swept back bars. I'm using standard Ergons on a Gusset Stash bar (35 degree) but they're getting a bit old. Tempted by some of the Ergon swept back specific (30-50 degrees) but yet to find anyone who uses them.

Cheers I'll give them a shout.

That's "specialized" as in the pre-Sinyard meaning.

The sweep-specific ergons seem dumb. They just position your hand/wrist at the same angle as you would be if you had a normal flat bar, but just moved backwards a bunch. Seems like an expensive way to cancel out the benefit of the you swept/angled bar...

Thanks man, just been in touch and they have got some. Gonna send my local representative (my Dad - he lives nearby) round to get some.

Interesting. I'm no physio but don't they just give more support diagonally across the palm in that setup?
-
• #112369
That's what I thought until I popped into the LBS and had a look/test ride
Ergon claim it fixes this issue:
by supporting your hand but also altering the angle of your wrist
What I found was it fucked with the ergonomics of the brakes (angle of lever and hand don't match up) and I could relieve the issue in the first picture by just repositioning the bar (raising and shorter stem). IME the regular ergons work well enough if you just want palm support.

That's just my experience though, they might work for you :)

Thanks for the reply. I'll try the normal Ergons on my Fu Manchus when I get them and see how I get on. I used to have Marys and just used standard grips (usually I can't ride non-Ergon grips due to arthritic wrists - drops mostly ok though) so the angle may just work with foam grips or bartape.

I try not riding this in shitty weather but couldn't resist.

That's eerily close to my budget(ish) ideas for a serious TT rig. Looking forward to the build progress.

Does it get more HHSRB than this?
Thanks. Shame they're not available anymore. I'd have snapped a pair of them up.
