Think I am gonna go for the Tab A, I did look at the sub £200 ones, but all seem to come with 1GB ram or thereabout, I guess that would really have an impact on the speed. Now I can finally get rid of my Chromebook that was bought as an stop gap between having my Mac stolen to insurance paying out...
Anybody wants a cheap as chips Acer chrombook? I'd keep it to use for note taking, but it's 14 inch = I might as well take my laptop with me...

If you're just taking notes via the digi keyboard, playing the odd game (but not the games), and youtube/web, I can't imagine it being an issue. I'd suspect you could go even cheaper. The only issue for your needs would be screen responsiveness, I suppose, and Samsung has excellent screens/digitizers in my experience.
But others may disagree!
