Could I use Saint cranks?
They're a fine crank for the larger gentleman.

Pics of BB and cranks or it didn't happen

This is the old BB. It has a 24mm hole in what looks to me like a GXP bottom bracket.
-
• #1880
This is the crank fitting through the drive-side of the new GXP BB but not fitting through the NDS BB bearing (removed in this photo, as I was trying to fit it over the end of the axle)
-
• #1881
There's no visible step down on the axle, then? And it's definitely a truvative / GXP crank? Weird.
-
• #1882
No idea what the crank is. It has an FSA spider lockring and M175 markings, that's about it.
-
• #1883
Might be an FSA crank then - they had a habit of cracking the plastic BB bearing shields so that GXP thing you see could have been lifted from another BB.
They had 24mm axles like Shimano.
Burn with fire

This isn't the loose bearing cover, this is the more sealed drive-side one.
The inner sleeve (axle cover, whatever the fuck it's called) also has GXP on it. -

What do Hope BBs look like? I presume Hope wouldn't have GXP written on them?
I ask because: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/hope-bottom-bracket-truvativ-gxp-converter/rp-prod26899 -

Hope don't make GXP bbs, but they have a converter for the non-drive side.
-
• #1887
Shrug! No idea then.
(Would still wager it's some kind of FSA bodge)

Kill the cranks. Kill them now.

Even a non-dropper I'd want to be able to slam the saddle. Was a borderline issue on Kate's mtb, the seatpost is too long to get the saddle really low.
That said droppers are the best thing that's happened to mountain biking basically ever

Ooh, is there a thread for that? I'm in!

I've done my penance on a rigid mtb with 2" tyres and a non-qr seatpost collar. Those days are over
*except in winter, or when I fancy not having a bouncy front end for shiggles, or for long cross country treks, or if I need to lock the bike up anywhere, or...

But anyway

• #1898
Yeah, I can't find anything that describes what the bike has.
1 of 1, baby!
Time for Shimano...

The superfly ss is built - just some heli taping and a head set cap to sort.

Could I use Saint cranks?
They are 104mm bcd, suit 68mm BB shell, come in variety of lengths and should be tough as nails.
