Hey guys saw these on the Tensile website, not sure if they are a good deal or not but heard the hubs are good value for money. Anybody know if they're a good investment?
Cheers. http://www.tensile.net/araya-abyss-on-tensile-fixie-wheels.html -

Hmmm. Says super light but doesn't say what the weight is...

Hubs are good enoug, but no idea about the rim and they're cheap spokes.

Halfords advanced 170 and 120 socket sets discounted with code:
" SOCKETJAN "
Pretty good pricing if you don't have a full spanner and socket set. The Internet seems to like Halfords Advanced, but advises that you look after the receipt to make sure the guarantee is honored.
Also their 2 for £20 deal has some of the HA Allen keys, so if there's something else in the deal you need it's pretty gvfm as well.

Got an older version of the 170 piece kit about 10 years ago.
New layout looks better, but those shiny clips will eventually work loose from the top half and then the fact that only the bottom half has a handle means if anyone picks it up without realising it's unsecured, it will flap open, they'll probably drop it and you'll have a fun 15 minutes putting all the sockets back in the right place.
Also, mine came with a mismatched unengraved 13mm socket where I should have had a 14mm socket, even though I'm pretty sure it was sealed when I got it. Didn't notice for months.

Yeah those sort of cases are always rubbish long term. But if you use the kit a lot you'll probably end up having them in something else I guess. And if you don't then it'll probably last longer.
I've got an old ⅜" / ¼"socket wrench, so annoyingly can't really justify it... even though I do need some spanners, and wouldn't mind a ½" wrench and some deep sockets.

I'm looking for a black Miche Primato Advanced chainset on a tight budget, should I pick one up here: http://www.velodromeshop.net/track-chainsets/miche-primato-advanced-track-chainset/
Or any other shops I should consider? Or places to find it cheaper? (Can't find a used one in black so far.) (I'm located in Belgium.)

Personally I'd avoid them, as their customer service is appalling. There are lots of examples in this thread;
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/200258/
Chain Reaction have it for £90.
-
• #1764
Thanks, unfortunately the £90 price won't work for me
- Location UK, currency GBP: £89.99 = €104.1
- Location Belgium, currency GBP: £97.49 = €112.8
- Location Belgium, currency euros: €116.49 (=£100)
So it's £100 vs the £85 at velodromeshop
Might get the SRAM S300 then for €99,90 incl. gxp bb
Anyone know if any shop is offering a better price than this? - Location UK, currency GBP: £89.99 = €104.1

Not having to deal with the cunts at Velodromeshop = priceless...or a lot more than £15 at any rate!

I just bought this as it was a good deal (Deore Shadow Clutch rear mech for £30). But was gutted to find it for £10 less (after I'd ordered) on the JE James website

They used to Auction stuff on ebay under the name 'PriceShaggers' but that seems to have died. Link to the new place?
EDIT: Probably this: http://www.bikebiz.com/news/read/600-planet-x-items-sold-at-auction-earlier-today/020356

I wouldn't touch J E James with a bargepole.
-
• #1774
Why's that?
I can't say I've bought much off them, but I've never read a bad word about them before.

They consistently advertise things at a good price that they don't have in stock, then take ages to tell you that a) it's going to take a while or b) that they can't actually get it and will refund you, eventually.
