  • Customs and Vat are applied to both item cost and postage. If he marks down price you will be uninsured completely. The carrier will say the item was not declared at full value and if it gets damaged or goes missing you get nothing apart from the possibility of a summons from Customs and Excise.

  • Yes anything. You used to get exemption for item returning to country (or EEC) of origin so if you bought an Italian frame from US you could escape charges. Now it only applies to items re-imported within a very short window.
    The thing is you get charged duties and then VAT on those, item cost, post and insurance.
    It seems if you buy on Ebay from someone using the Global Shipping Program charges are greatly reduced.
    Personally I think British snd Italian frames are quite often the best.
