I think it's Randonneur (or BRM?) only.
Edit: but now I've checked again I'm not sure why I think that. Possibly because BPs aren't accepted for virtually all other awards, except the fixed wheel challenge and AAA awards.

Probably safer to stick with that logic and do the longer.

Doing tan E2E over a long weekend might be a pain because of the logistics of getting to / from Penzance and Scotland.
I've been thinking about taking the overnight ferry to France, 1400k to Nice, then flying back for Easter 2018.

True. A e2e route would do for the 1300k option but then I'd be stuck in JoG.
I found a 1000k route last night someone posted in a "1000s" thread on YACF (that I now can't find) that went from Albion cafe in London down to Lands End and back to Albion cafe.
London start removes the need for any extra travel for me so it's likely a lot more time efficient than E2E.

Just looking at that route, I really wouldn't ride the A30 between Penzance and Okehampton. It's a motorway in everything but name. There have been a few deaths on that road because people think that it's the only road from Land's End. The A388 runs parallel to it, and I would probably head across to the A39. Or look at the route the Kernow 600 uses.

I've ridden it before, a few times, for the LEJOG record. It's a bit unpleasant.
I guess the original rider might've planned to be there at night? I'm not that bothered.

If you were looking to extend it a 1300km, you could easily avoid it. Bude on way out, Plymouth(Yealmpton-Totnes), coastal to Exeter.
Just an idea anyway. I always get pit in stomach when I see people on it.
-
• #6085
I'll have a look at your suggestion - I need to extend it anyway since I took it back from Albion cafe to Ealing and lost ~30k
I had lots of fun with caravans and trucks passing me... then some fuckstain hothatch shitnozzle or 'I drive a BMW so I'm far more important than you' cunt overtakes them, forcing them to stay in and close-pass me. Fun and games.

You crack me up. Rides around the Alps and then looks for every hill in Albion.
-
• #6087
Why you not Flatland? Because no Uxbridge on weekend?
North Circular to Waterworks Corner!

I'd say it should be doable to time the run out so as to do it through the night and arrive at LE for sunrise, but then there's the way back to take care of. Planning it to do most of it (out and back) through the night would make for quite an anticlimatic stop at LE!

It's more a case of wanting to do it in a normal weekend and finding a quite route so if I have any dramas I still get it done and this appeared on a thread of long rides and started/finished in London. Saves me having to map something out myself.

Stupid browser lost my reply. Something something I forgot people liked to ride bikes for fun and seeing stuff and something something I was just looking for faster long rides and if they start in London, bonus.
I would probably have a lot at adding the A388 detour, although Google can't find that road so not a good start.

I have a nice flat route to York by two is 800 km and then a nice 600 makes 1400km which I all done with nice controls if you like 5,000m climbing. Could easily cut 1ookm as well to make it 1300km.

I have to apologise, I didn't read the number correctly. A386 from Okehampton, joins the road that goes through Lewdown, Tinhay, Lifton, into Launceston. Then across to Camelford over Davidstow moor, londis+petrol station there IIRC.

How about the southern half of LEL? Would be a lot less lump than going to Lands End, and it's all mapped out

Not a bad shout. I wanted to do the LEL so maybe I could do the whole thing as a Perm?

Bit last year.

But yes.

They have the route: https://londonedinburghlondon.com/route/
They even ask for people to check it so I'd almost be doing them a favour if I rode it.

There have been Easter arrows with frozen water bottles but not last year.

You might get guaranteed entry for next time.

I rode the N1A section of the LEL route yesterday and enjoyed it.
I think I've got enough climbing with TABR and TCR - I want easy ones! :)
