• Thread title change... it's no longer the 622 SLX.

I've had my bike fitting, and I've ridden some test bikes of different materials and the 622 is out.

I didn't like the Cervelo feel, it wasn't lively enough... it was close, but the Serotta just had so much joy in it, the way a small exertion made the bike feel like a coiled spring being unleashed, it was always a joy and the Cervelo lacked that same quality.

Also was going through the other requirements, and the desire to accommodate larger tyres meant that the seat stays were likely to be Ti.

Have decided that if we're going to have seat stays and down tube as Ti, then the frame would be better being Ti throughout. So test rode a full Ti and that feeling was a lot closer to the Serotta than the carbon mix or full carbon bikes, whilst also offering a high degree of durability.

This means that the bike should be a Seven Axiom SLX... except I'm asking for a few things that make it sound more like a Seven Evergreen SLX. So they're going to be me something in between... loosely described as a 4-season all-road bike that will act and feel like a road bike more than any other type of bike, yet will handle whatever I throw at it.
