I had issues with my SS drivetrain so they're not the be all end all solution. Fill anything with enough muck and it will start to struggle.

I have an unknown crankset on my bike now and it was using a GXP BB so I bought a GXP BB and it doesn't fit the crank axle.

Probably a slack chain

Or a tight chain

Or a shit chain...

It was an efficient chain... right up until it was a slack chain.

Ah, so it was definitely your chain then!

The chain tension was good so what probably happen is my awesome power combined against the QR skewer and chaintug to move the wheel forward slightly. This combined with me crashing into piles of dirt which filled the singlespeed freewheel enough to kick the chain off it. Cold weather meant my hands were too weak to undo the wheel and add tension back into it.
None of this would've happened with Di2 ;)

mtb and road gxp are different widths

Hmm.. I still don't have a solution for my Inbred. Everything online points to Truvativ GXP being different standards but I seem to have a Truvativ GXP BB that's 24mm both ends instead of the normal GXP which is 22/24mm.
Can I run my Shimano Zee singlespeed chainring on this:

Different BCD

I'm not sure I want anything with GXP in the name after this debacle with the Inbred.

What 104mm bcd cranks can I get that will work with the GXP BB I have?
Actually, Hollowtech II BB are 24mm right? So could I just buy a Hollowtech BB for whatever stupid cranks I have now?
I seem to have a large combination of parts, none of which work together.

But a GXP BB has a smaller bearing diameter at the non-drive end, I think. I recently converted a hope BB for hollowtech to GXP with a small shim that sits inside the non-drive bearing that the GXP spindle pushes against.
It's a fucking pain, all these non-standards. Buy more shit, throw it away more.

Yep. This is why whatever cranks I have don't fit through the new BB I bought even though the old BB had GXP written on it, the cranks were actually 24/24mm whereas the new GXP BB I bought is 22/24mm.

The thing that confuses me the most is that I have an old GXP BB that is 24/24mm, which ISN'T the GXP standard, as far as I know.
You could always try out a cheapo SS conversion kit? Just while the Winter slop is at its worst.
