ohh, flappage too.
Mudguard flap spares, or chop a plastic bottle up or gaffer tape. Must do mine.

I run Crud Roadracer Mk2's on my PreCursa and they do the job if you're happy to fettle them a bit. However they can be a little flimsy in my experience. Happy to stick pictures up if you want to see how they fit

Picked up this Pre Cursa for my daily commute so Mudguards were essential. Managed to finangle some SKS Mudguards on there with some drilled out Axiom Runners to anchor them down. Clearance is tight but the bike runs silent so it turned out well. And on a day like today they work some kind of forcefield....

This isn't really the right place to ask this, but anyway.
How reliable is the Dolan web site? When they say they have a selection of sugino cranks in stock do they really have them in stock or are they lying and going to take my money until I ask for a refund, a bit like velodrome shop.
It just seams a bit too good to be true. I guess I'm asking are they reliable in delivering, if anybody has any recent experience, cheers.

How reliable is the Dolan web site?
Depend on how accurate their stock taking is.
No website are accurate, you can always email them if you're concerned.
Velodrome Shop is a whole different ballpark, poor stock taking and tend to lure people in buying stuff that not in stock (so that they can back order it).

Ring the number and speak to someone. I spoke to a guy called Tom who was super helpful and went off to physically check stock for me to see if they had what I wanted.

I did what bazschmaz did because I wanted to buy a Zen and some SG75s online, then collect the following day from the showroom.
Couple of years ago, and can't remember the name of the chap I spoke to on the phone, but he was super helpful, went to check stock, and said they had plenty in, and the order was in a carrier bag ready to collect in the morning. -

Nice! Vig-esque colour scheme, but way better obviously, being a Dolan ;-)
Liking those new Miche cranks! Looking at getting the Pistard Air for my fixed TT bike. Can you by any chance tell me if the Miche logos on the arms are screen-printed or laser-etched?
Would love for them to be silk screened (this removable with acetone) on the black model for a super sleek, stealth, solid spider aero crank (although more likely on a silver one that they're laser-etched). -

TDC.of.sams is that paint on the fork or sticker on vinal ? looks good either way.
Keep meaning to get some stick on stuff for mine.

Omniums on a Precursa has to really be a labour of love with all sorts of jiggery pokery bracket spacers and some "depressions" on the chain stays .
Having tried it a few times now my view is its not worth the trouble, just use SG75's or DA cranks if you think you will notice any difference over the Sugino messengers or Miche Advanced .
if your looking to buy a 54cm Precursa drop me a pm I have a few surplus ones for disposal .

@Lukas @853Superfly Cheers Guys, Spent 5 moths building her up so im pleased how it turned out!
im not actually sure how the logos are put on, but id assume theyre printed, as theyre alrea\dy started to rub from my straps.
ALso the forks are a rattlecan job, i didnt even think of a vinal option! -
• #3391
Like others have said, sick paintwork! How'd it come about?
-
• #3392
Amazing, thanks for the info, and once again, love the bike!

@Ptown I dunno really! i was set on fully repainting it, so was looking at inspiration stuff, here and reddit mainly, and saw some kinda similar frames so decided to try it out.
I did consider getting it professionally done by argos or something similar, but thought may aswell try it myself first and see how it turns out -

Aluminium vs Carbon fork?
Which is better on a Pre Cursa for city riding?
I was thinking of getting the frameset with the Alpina Track fork (I want a straight fork with angle), but someone told me aluminium would be a better choice. -
• #3395
I think they meant alu steerer.
A full carbon fork would be safer because it's a one piece design, rather than a alu steerer bonded to the carbon fork legs.
Lastly, please ignore that someone.
-
• #3396
Yeah that sounds right about full carbon being stronger, but it's more expensive I think so for me it's either carbon with alu steerer tube or full alu. He uses a full aluminium fork and said someting about that it could handle more on impact.
-
• #3397
The cheap alu steerer one is still fine to ride, the majority of road bike out there have those kind of fork, even with steel steerer.
A full alu fork will be considerably harsh to ride, and not necessary to handle more impact.
If you really want a strong fork, your best option is to go for a Surly Steamroller fork, which then you might as well just get a full Surly Steamroller instead.

Thanks for the help! The Alpina Track fork will do fine then I think

Yup. Not seen it availble in any UK stores, but checked the Distro and had a word with some BS pals about getting a little discount.
Pretty sure those decals will acetone right off.
That look like the old model, avoid at all cost (especially at that price).
The new one is better;

edit - add link to newer model for the same price.
