Also... OMG, just realised I can @ the people that typically cannot be @'d.
i.e.
@_Zed_
typically produces @Zed as the underlines are parsed as Markdown emphasis. But
@\_Zed_
uses a backslash to escape the markdown and the @ works as @_Zed_Edit: And now I've also realised that surrounding it with backticks also works.

Can I now @>>>>>> ?
@>>>>>> (With backshlash) -
• #1079
Nope
-
• #1080
No, still requires Twitter-style usernames... but the escape stops Markdown breaking that before the mentions are detected.

you will be even easier to spot now. what are you riding into work? Mather?
POC octal is the shit. IMO.
-
• #1082
You've no idea how easy I am to spot now, the POC glows.
And yeah, the Mather. Which is great but it is a bit heavy and I do enjoy going faster... which is why I was on the Serotta for the hit and run.
If the Mather had been hit, I'm pretty sure a little welding and a new top tube and it would've been fine.

Been wearing a Bell Zephyr for a couple of weeks now and it's probably the best fitting helmet I've personally ever worn, and I'm not just saying that cos they're sponsoring us. Fits me much better than my old Synthe and is much more breathable than the Star Pro I was using up to now. Also it's the first helmet that doesn't make me look like Toad from super Mario.

I was wearing a Specialized Propero 2 medium which fit perfectly without even tightening the dial. Problem with that was I couldn't get a cap underneath. I had a black ice incident last week and need something new now, but my head is 58.5cm and it seems mediums go up to 58 and are too tight, and larges start at 59 and feel massive. So does anyone else have this problem, and are there any good medium helmets that come up big, or large helmets that come up small?

Try lazer, I think they are 'one size fits all' with a wide range of adjustment. Or s/m and m/l. So the bigger size, you shouldn't be at the bottom of the band. I have a slightly smaller head than you and had a lazer and it fits nicely.

Got the non-mips Bell Stratus which is a nice and low profile cheap version of the Zephyr.
Crashing on a Giro Synth made me not want expensive lids anymore

I love mine and likewise don't even notice when it is on, much comfort, very wow.

Kask and POC are good Medium fits.

Thanks for the suggestions, none of my local shops stock Lazer or POC but might order a couple to try on. Annoyingly the Kask Protone in large fits me well but I didn't really want to spend £180 on a helmet, don't like the retention system on the Mojito as it pushes my glasses off.

Don't forget to consider the shape of your head when looking at sizes. E.g. Specialized fits if you have a narrow head, Kask fits if you have a round head. Same as with motorbike helmets.

I like the look of the Protone, but tried one on and it turns out I have a specialized head :( If it fit me at the sides, it definitely didn't fit front to back.

Got the new Giro Cinder - somewhere between the Evade and Synthe. Looks great, feels great. Will report after 4 days in Tenerife this week.

How about the first forum designed helmet? http://design-innovation-award.com/winner/sweet-protection-falconer-aero
I've probably worked thousands of hours on this project, so glad to see it out there. It will hit the stores in March and will be available in three versions: standard, mips and aero.

Looks ace! EPS or foam? Are the UCI allowing clip-on (or magnetic) aero covers? I seem to remember they were banned?
-
• #1098
EPS. Weight in the link is a bit misleading – that's a large including the covers. A medium without is around 255. I'm narrow 59cm and I use medium.
Covers are not UCI legal at the moment, but that might change. Anyway it's up to the local commissaire to decide wether you can keep them on or not. That winning photo above was a UCI race ;)

So I've got a Specialized prevail helmet at the mo, I seem to have a specialized shape of head. I've occasionally tried on other helmets and found I really don't have a Giro or Kask shaped head. Guess my head is less round and more narrow.
Anyway, I've noticed my helmet has a crack in it. Are there any other makes that cater for narrow specialized shaped heads?
Also, anyone had experience of specialized's crash replacement thing?

I've found lazer pretty good for my large (59cm) but narrow head. Also had spec in the past and never got on with giro or kask. I have a Blade and the Genesis fit pretty well too.
sure, I'll PM with the address.
