  • I couldn't get on with The Expanse. To get my sci-fi fix over the holidays I was watching a bit of Defiance, which is ok but a bit wobbly and low budget.
Then I rediscovered Misfits, which is still funny, and it's quite interesting to see how many up and coming british actors have walk-on parts in it.

  • Yep - bit of a weepy. Very pretty visually and loved Neeson but overall a bit obvious. Kids liked it.

Loved LaLaLand. Just the feelgood tonic needed these days. Not a fan of the bug-eyed Miss Stone generally, but she was good in this.

  • I really liked AMC; again it knows where it's going. Last 15 minutes were pretty brutal to watch.

  • I can't be the only one who was bored throughout most of Silence?

  • Hunt for the wilderpeople. Get on it. Most enjoyable

  • Its on Netflix ATM, will give it a crack.

    Off to see LaLaLand later

  • January the 8th 2016 is Roy Batty's Incept Date.

    You know, from that film.

  • Agreed. Best film of 2016 for me.

  • Saw Arrival yesterday it was excellent

  • Baskin. been meaning to watch it for a while and it was on the mongbox late last night. don't expect an american remake for reasons that'll become obvious if you watch it.

    7/5

  • La La Land is magical.

    Enjoyed it a lot.

  • Fire city end of days, usual indie film problems of so so effects bit confusing at the start but solid effort. If the premise attracts you give it a watch :)

  • Saw Manchester By the Sea last night, perfect film if you're a fan of grieving. Can kind of see why Affleck is getting the praise he is but it's not a film to judge on it's trailer, was surprised by the amount of humour. Also lack of Michelle Williams character is a bit disappointing when you look at the whole story.

  • Jackie. meh. Much as I love Natalie Portman, the accent, however accurate, is grating and it has possibly the worst soundtrack I have ever heard in a film.

  • Totally enjoyable. Cheers for the heads up.

  • La La Land is everything I wanted it to be and then some. An absolute fucking belter of a film.

  • Thanks for the recomendation relly enjoyed it. Music is good too.

  • Eddie the Eagle on nflix...
    The perfect movie

  • Dexter Fletcher is the British Ron Howard.

  • Hunt for the wilderpeople. Another vote for this, really charming.

  • Thirteenth - how fucked is the USA they have 5% of the worlds population yet 25% of the world's prisoners.

Blacks make up 6.5% of US population but over 40% of the prison population.

  • i watched that the other week mind boggling and disturbing, Prison is a business, the american dream.

  • Eddie the Eagle on nflix...
    The perfect movie

Just watched this. It's brilliant. I was in tears almost constantly.

  • Hidden Figures & Snowden - both have a good story to tell and do it well in an endearing way, worthwhile watches

  • Wilderpeople is majestical
