A diesel type 25 will be ok, but pretty underpowered compared to a T4....the early T4's with normal Diesel engines, not common rail or turbos, will do plenty of mpg while still driving well.
I've got a bay window type 2, 2litre and consequently don't give a fuck about mpg though!
