  • Ha,
RL&P used to be a Friday lunchtime pub, when I worked for Expandite in North Acton back in the '90s. I presume being a Wetherspoons it has a restricted choice of draft beer?
I'm happy cycling to Shepherds Bush, not necessarily for the Brewdog pub.
I presume there are other options in 'your Manor'?

  • Aeronaut just burned down(ish).

    http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/acton-fire-fire-crews-still-at-aeronaut-pub-36-hours-after-new-year-blaze-a3430776.html

Chatsworth seemed a bit drug dealer to me when I was there years ago. May be completely different. RL&P is a 'spoons which we all know are only good for Brexit voters and students.

The King whatsit / Dragonfly brewpub in Acton is kinda cool but probably sub-par for bikes.

  • Ahh, that may account for "that Al-Fresco BBQ feel"

  • I'm not a big fan of Brewdog either, but this month, the beer is irrelevant for me I'm afraid :(. There's The Orchard, and The Eagle on Askew Road, also I haven't tried the new incarnation of Tommy Flynn's on the corner of Askew, and Uxbridge Roads, my regular is the Pocket Watch (Was the British Queen).

    Can I suggest The Eagle?

  • The Eagle is good. Again, not too sure about bike suitability. I don't ride anywhere less than 100k.... ;0)

  • Are we agreeing on The Eagle then?

  • The Eagle - I will try and pop in on Thursday - providing nothing to drastically wrong happens at work.

  • Will aim for between 7:00 and 7:30

  • Post-lunch bump.

    Early evening rain,
    but,
Weather forecast suggests any late departures may now escape the prospect of icy roads.

  • I'll be there for 7

  • It has gone very quiet, out here, in outer west London.
The percussive accompaniment to the previous rain,
    on our conservatory roof,
has been replaced by the deathly hush of sleet.

Those (new) Tern waterproof overshoes are going to earn their keep tonight.

  • Gonna see how it goes, just leaving work now. Will see how soaked I am by the time I reach Hammersmith. Maybe there around 7.30ish.

  • Weather, Acton rather than Ealing and late family meal means more like 19.45 at the earliest for me.

  • Walk in, past the right of the bar, we have a large table.

  • Sorry, folks, I was hoping to make it late-ish tonight but chickening out because of the weather, too far to ride in that crap. Have a good one!

  • How a out the Elgin in Ladbroke grove? Or the red lemon in all saints road? @skydancer

  • I've got no problem cycling in to Ladbroke Grove.

I've often walked past the Elgin,
    and
wondered if is/was 'THE' Elgin that was a venue for mid-'70s pubrock and early punk.

  • Likely so. @moorhen will know. Has a music stage at the rear. Still has regular music nights. Food and ok beer.

  • No too good for bike parking though

  • Yep the closest two rows of steel cycle parking loops are outside Ladbroke Grove Tube station.
There is a long steel railing on the other side of Westbourne Park Road though.

  • Early lunchtime bump.

    Who's in?
We have the above suggestion, any other takers?

  • I've got to pass tonight, sorry

  • Mid-afternoon bump.

    Thanks for letting me know,
    maybe next week?

  • 18.15 bump.

  • 24hr alert.

    Anything happening tomorrow?
