Bit weird that they didn't integrate this in their new junctions (like the XT and XTR models)

Looking at DI2 hacks for running with TRP Hylex levers, climber buttons in the RH lever seems easy, they even sell kits. 2 questions though,
can you just replicate this on the LH shifter? Presumably would need dedicated LH buttons? Or are the mechs clever enough to distinguish.
Can anyone point me to 10 speed DI2 buttons? Or again, does this just not artery if you have the 10spd mechs?
Much appreciated

do you already have hylex? otherwise R785 is cheaper/same price.

Already have Hylex. Still figuring stuff out, but yeah from new guess it would be comparable. Why are DI2 hydraulics cheaper than mechanical shifting? I suppose less internals to figure out?
More reading seems to suggests you just programme the buttons to required set up.
I guess to explain, I don't necessarily want DI2 but ability to run it alongside Hylex has intrigued me. Ideally I'd just want 10spd integrated hydraulic shifters.

Ha, yep have seen that. But only ever for the RH, for the LH would you just programme them differently? (Coming from no DI2 experience).
Another option was along the lines of this

Mentioned up thread, and potentially doing both with the cat eye buttons, but fitting them under the Hylex hoods instead of the climber buttons. I think they'd be a lot neater than the climber buttons too.

For the front derailleur you'd need either a hydro Shimano shifter or the hacked guts of any eTube front shifter. SW-600 climbers shifters can only operate the rear mech.

Hmm thought as much, have seen mentions of 'just using it on the left hand side' but no rel evidence of it being done.
If I do end up going the DI2 route, then hacking the guts of r671 to shifters seems the best bet as they come for front and rear

Cosmetically poor 6770 shifters seem to go pretty cheaply, and if you're only using the Di2 electronics box in the shifters you don't need to hack hydro shifters - any will do.
-
• #1936
Sorry, should have clarified, r671 are the time trial button shifters, not hydraulics
-
• #1937
Di2 derailleurs define the amount of gears you have, any shifter will work with either 10 or 11 speed

Is it easy enough to change Derailleurs between bikes?
Say i had a cross bike set up for hydro and a road bike caliper could i easily just share Derailleurs? Or is any magic required to get them talking?
Planing pre wiring and plumbing the cross bike for next season and simply changing Ders when needed.

As long as all the firmware is updated and equal, shouldn't be a problem at all I don't think
-
• #1940
You need to have em all on the same firmware. So just make sure you had the derailleur on your bike once while it was connected to a computer and run Shimano e-tube. From then on you can swap em out when you want to

Perfect saves a few hundred quid!
Whilst still being the best there is IMO

If anyone sees or has some Di2 tt brake shifters I am in need.
-
• #1944
Why? You planning on doing technical TT courses?

Tomorrow I'm going to put my hands on the 9170... will report back.

You got me!
Bluetooth LE, ANT+ and internal: https://www.bike-components.de/en/Shimano/EW-WU111-Dura-Ace-Di2-R9150-Wireless-Unit-2017-Model-p51463/
Not bad for all that connectivity and syncro shift. Obvs will need the new battery.
