I've seen Campa 10 speed shifters+derailleurs used with 10 speed shimano cassettes and work perfect, but they only work in certain shifter/derailleur combinations (like here http://forums.mtbr.com/drivetrain-shifters-derailleurs-cranks/10-speed-ultegra-cassette-campy-derailleur-382247.html).
Or you would (indeed) need a travel adjuster/adapter like a Shiftmate 1 (look at chart here http://www.jtekengineering.com/resources/shiftmate-compatibility/) which is pretty easy to install..
If above options are not for you, then just get Campa stuff

Just to make sure I'm not inferring something weird here, I plan to use Chorus shifters. Barring modifications and travel adjusters and the like, this would necessitate a Campag cassette (and therefore freehub), right?
