  • Emails are out.

    I got a place. Chuffed.

  • Congrats! @sbajda did not

  • How do they decide who is and isn't placed?

  • Here's something about the selection process. Some of it is a ballot and for example the top25 of last year's race got a place.

  • Do you get an email if you don't get a place? Haven't got anything... :-/

  • Ignore me, I was checking the wrong email....and I have a place. Arghhhsgsgshhsghsgshhhhhhshiiitttt!

  • Jay Petervary is in.

  • Well done @gillies and @boomboom!

  • @modan you have company ;)

  • No go here.

  • Sorry. Should have told em you was doing it fixed.

  • I'm so glad/scared to get a place for TCR no 5. My cousin and I will be doing it as a pair. This will be interesting?!

  • Have heard good things on here about Phd down jackets, which one do people have and how small does it pack?

  • Well done to all those who got on!

@RankinJ Some went for the K series believe - I think they're the most packable on the market. Otherwise uniqlo does a very good value one.

Beautifully shot only gripe is they got @hippy 's name wrong >:(

  • Otherwise uniqlo does a very good value one.

I've got that. Very light and packs small. Slept in it most nights and used it for descents. I'm also wearing it a lot this winter (as my house is so fucking cold). Great value for £19!

  • Not sure how it compares with the Uniqlo jacket, but the lightweight Decathlon one is great for £29. They'll be in the sales soon! Looks to be about the same packed size.
Planet X is knocking out merino baselayers cheap right now as well.

  • I got the Decathlon one in the sales last year (£15ish, i think). Surprisingly warm for something so light.

  • The fat man is back.

  • I might be giving you a run for your money (in the fat stakes :p )

  • 95kg+ after this trip. That's a good 10kg heavier than when I won the Nats and Worlds.
5kg of that should come off pretty quick but getting down to 85 or even my oft-dreamed-of 80kg is going to suck.

All my efforts will be going into TABR though with TCR performance entirely dependent on how much it fucks me up. It's unknown territory.

  • Fuck me. Elephant. Just get fat adapted and race it on fat.

I am keen to see how you can do in TABR and then TCR. I do wonder if you can do 2 that close.
I wonder if Kristoff will lose some % in TCR (if he does it) if he goes very deep in australia one.

  • I was 97kg when I weighed myself 2 weeks ago. I don't keep scales in the house.

In fairness, I am 6ft5 so you might be winning.

I think I'll be around 90, maybe 88 for the TCR.
