Thought I'd post up these Blackhorse Lane Atelier. Been sitting on these for a while, but TL;DR I've been involved with BHL developing a 14oz selvedge (Turkish) jean for one of my clients, which is based around their NW3 offering (https://blackhorselane.com/product/nw3-straight-jean-14-oz-selvedge-denim/) with some tweaks (higher rise, revised pocket sizing / detailing, different hardware, you get the idea).
Anyhow, this is a production sample, albeit still with BHL hardware, patch and pocket bags. Yet to wear ! Excited. The one piece fly is niiiice.
Where does everyone go to get their selvedge taken up? Can take it back the factory in the new year but they're only back on the 6th I believe and I want to get it done with a proper chain stitch machine and make sure the thread is properly matched.

If unsanforized then yep - soak them. They can lose inches in size, you'll also remove some of the starch from the denim.
I've got jeans which I've soaked and ones I haven't, just depends. Bit of salt and vinegar can help with indigo dye staining other clothes in the early parts of new jeans.

I'd soak them cold - they could lose up to 2 inch on the leg but I've never seen that much shrinkage.

I mean they could shrink again in length when you wash them eventually, but never mind me do as you like

Ha! Denims one of those things.
I'll probebrly just dry clean them if they need it. So will go for a cold soak.

Bought my first pair of jeans in about 10 years today - Iron Heart 21oz, because knee bending is overrated anyway.

skinny
@Tenderloin what's the best protocol with 501xx should I soak initially or anything?
Edit: Dont want shrink so just foing to wear them from new.
Levis shrink more than most. It's advisable to have kept them on in a cool soak, make sure they form to you.
If they're bought to your size stay well away from soaking.
