  • The sram s900 for example?

  • @spotter
Ah I misunderstood, I thought you were asking what BB you need.

If you have a standard sram pressfit BB, a gxp crankset will work with no adapters need.

I'm not sure about BB30, but my understanding is you can't do it with bb86 BB. Not with sram anyway. Rotor has options but the bearings are smaller.

I run sram pressfit BB in my bb86 frame and a sram force 22 crankset. S900 would work exactly the same.

  • GXP 24mm version yeah. Wouldn't try anything with a 30mm axle - some will work, but you end up with spendy and tiny bearings.

  • If a 750 mAh battery drains in approx 40 mins, does that equate to approx 1A power draw?

  • Nice one. I have very little clue about this stuff.
I arrived at that number by assuming 1000 mAh in 1 hour would = 1A, so 75% of that would be 750 mAh / 45 min at the same discharge (with a bit of room for efficiency).

  • Is it normal for packages being sent from within the EU to be held in UK customs on arrival?

I have ordered a backpack from Eastpak (total value £25 and dispatched from Belgium) and it has been sent through UPS. It is currently being held at the UPS warehouse at Midlands airport and being reviewed by customs.

  • Thanks that makes sense

@Howard thats annoying, I found some good deals on BB30 cranks.

  • are certain jockey wheels better than others (it's for a Sram X9 Type 2), or should I just buy the standard ones?

  • It's too dark to take a photo in my garage so the below is a perfect example I've found online. The problem I have found on a newly acquired Flandria that the head of the the seatpost bolt seems to have been over tightened by the previous owner(s). It has therefore pulled through the bolt hole and is effectively acting upon absolutely nothing. I was going to cut off the lugholes and get a clamp to fit over the top of the seatpost but like the picture the top of the seatpost tube is not straight-cut. Is there anything that can solve my problem other than a nut, bolt and washer?

  • Yes and no. My dodgy polski discs arrived after two weeks, and were held at customs. Either the ten day wait was in customs, or the one hour wait, depending on if you trust the tracking info updates.

Belgium is Benelux, so slightly different to regular EEC.

  • Belgium is Benelux, so slightly different to regular EEC

LOL. There's no such thing as the EEC, and Benelux is a treaty organisation dealing mainly with domestic law in the signatory countries. Intra-EU trade is governed by EU regulations, which apply equally to the three Benelux countries as they do to any other EU member state.

Customs delays on intra-EU consignments can be caused by inspections for contraband, which includes things which are illegal to possess in the destination country (weapons, drugs etc.) and things which are illegal to trade between EU countries, mainly counterfeit goods.

  • Anyone know about open cycle map and RWGPS?

Around Winchester, there are loads of off road tracks highlighted in light orange. Why is this? Are they particularly good/popular routes (e.g. Swinley is highlighted the same way) or is there someone local just adding all of their favourite sections (which is no bad thing)?

  • How about fitting a washer onto the current set up?
Get one just big enough to stop the head pulling through.

  • That's exactly what I did at quarter past bedtime last night having cogitated all evening. A washer with 8mm internal diameter seems to have solved the problem. Great minds etc. Thanks.

  • Ceramic Speed seem to think so

  • Does anyone on here own a 3d printer and would be able to print something simple for me at short notice? Just a SNES/NES Raspberry Pi case.

  • Dunno, but the version Hope make are pretty.

  • Is this chains inability to seat itself an indicator that it's time to replace it?

  • Yes, maybe the chainring and cassette/cog too by the looks of it.

  • Yarp!

As the pins and rollers wear the effective length of each link increases, so each roller is picked-up higher on the tooth and then slides down as the sprocket rotates: hence the characteristic "shark's tooth/wave" shape of worn teeth.

One of these is best, as it only measures the wear at one roller/pin, whereas the more common type measure it at two and will have you changing your chain too early.

But that's better than too late...

  • Where can I buy a case for a Raspberry Pi from a regular shop in London, not online. Maplin?

  • Maplin stock them, best to click and collect as I'd imagine they're a popular Xmas present.

  • Sounds the best way.
