FWIW I can understand euphemisms for traditionally "taboo" subjects like toilets, sex etc.
But when it comes to things like "downsizing" for "sacking all our staff" and that type of corporate or political shite, I hate it. And I'm a copywriter for a marketing agency who spends a lot of time trying to persuade people to avoid it.
