It's only when using this wheel...
-
• #80953
It's specific to the wheel, it will judder in any bike.
-

Gotcha.
All I can says it's down to the rims really, did you use the abrasive rubber block?
-
• #80955
When it's all bolted up is there any play at the rim?
-
• #80956
What do you mean?
-
• #80957
No don't think so.
I might try cleaning the rim again with something more aggressive

I don't have that particular hub, but the end caps on my other Novatecs are snug, even when not clamped.
-
• #80959
Yeah I just checked a bhs hub and they are snug too. Darn. I pulled them off and there doesn't appear to be and debris in there. Is there an easy service I can do? Wheels are brand new from Hunt, so I guess I could send them back. Hassle though.

One of those, usually the best option to ensure the rims is nice and clear.
-
• #80961
Interesting, don't have one of these but I do have some wet and dry paper. Will give that a try if another clean doesn't work

crimped main tubing on bikes..is it a sign of a good bike or do lower end bikes copy this too?
found an interesting ebay mystery bike...
-
• #80963
I've seen more low-end frames with it, but not exclusively so.
-
• #80964
Use one of these, or washing up sponge, or even wire wool, Brillo pad, wet.

Any idea where I can buy a not very expensive A3 poster frame in Central London (short cycle from Westminster) tomorrow? It's the kind of thing that used to be everywhere but now more found online and I'm running out of time....

Habitat (TCR) should do them

hmmm, that plus the later edition looking mirage might rule it out of being good then. have emailed seller to look at pantos though as well as underside of bb just in case..

Wilkos normally have a variety of cheap ones. I guess the Kensington one would be nearest.

Chain master link pliers - are these type ok to use
Or should I go for different pliers to join and separate.
And what's the on-the-bike version - or should I just carry a spare master link along with a chain breaker.
-
• #80972
I didn't know these things existed for joining links :/
-
• #80973
You'll go var with these

I spend way too long yesterday with needle nosed pliers trying to get the fuckers apart
-
• #80975
I just use a £3 Lifeline one, never felt the need to pliers to fit the link, if it's tough then just hold the brakes and press on a pedal.
Headset a tiny bit loose can cause some judder.
