I thought I wanted an XC60 until I went in one, it's an 8 year old model now and really feels it. Ended up with a new Tiguan, because cheap lease.
The Nissan X Trail was probably the best car, but I couldn't live with the rear lights.
@hefty What in particular makes you say that about the XC60? I've been looking at few things and am leaning towards the Volvo. The spec for cash looks good and I like the way they look and feel. I can get a 2013 model 2.4l diesel, with all the bells and whistles with under 30k miles for around £18k. I hear they're a little sloppier to drive than the Audi or Honda CR-V but I can live with that to be honest. I'm hardly doing to be chucking it around with the babies in tow.
I looked at the Tiguan but i don't think it has the space I want. It looks like a Golf with wellies on. I looked at the X-Trail too but it's Range Rover/Tuareg/Q7 size innit.
Car peeps. I have a need for a larger, nicer car than our ageing Polo. My needs are: space for babies, kids and attendant stuff. Thinking compact SUV as opposed to estate as I now live in the country and bad roads and the occasional field are to be expected. Plus my wife wants a car to "jump down from". I like leather seats, DAB radios, sat-nav and low mileage. I'm guessing diesel is sensible. My budget is £20k. the Audi Q5 and the Volvo XC60 look good. Am I in the right ball park?
