Nah you want the old Cummins 5.9, 12v straight 6 turbo they fitted in early 90s Dodges. Utterly bullet proof and virtually no electrics to worry about.
Honestly my slightly ill sounding 300tdi makes more than enough power as is. I'm not sure if it's to do wth being high up or havin loads of suspension travel but it's way too easy to speed in the city in this compared to the AX and only realise when I find myself reaching for 4th gear.
