I sent the seller a message explaining the situation, expecting no response and what do you know, they got back to me, apologised and have refunded me.
Faith in humanity restored!
I'm a bit gutted though, the sale has been cancelled so I can't even leave the seller a positive feedback which I would have liked to have done.
If it's only a fiver, explain what's wrong with it and ask for a full refund, stating that it's not worth any more of your time and money to return it. Worked for me with a couple of dodgy low-value items.
